Rs. 47 Lac distributed among flood victims in Reasi (09 Oct 2014)
With many areas and villages affected in District Reasi amid the recent incessant rains, landslide/ floods, the distribution of relief has been on a high note in the district, it was stated by DDC (District development Commissioner) Reasi Shabir Ahmad Bhatt after reviewing relief distribution in a meeting of senior officers held at Reasi on Thursday.
DDC said, Rs 47 lacs have been distributed in the district among the flood victims till date, which mainly includes Rs 75,000 to each affected on account of complete damage to their houses. It also includes Rs. 1, 50,000 given to the so far confirmed death case due to the flood. Places especially Chassana and Dera Bawa which were the most affected areas were the first to receive the relief money immediately after the flood.
The DDC has directed the concerned officers to make sure that the relief reaches to each and every affected in the district timely ad immediate and process should be completed in next days.He called upon the revenue officials to complete verification and finalization of the list of affected families and submit within ten days.
The DDC has himself been on daily visits to many different places to access the distribution of the relief, during which the DDC has interacted with the common people in order to look after any complaint regarding the relief distribution.
Moreover, a grievance cell has also been put in place to address any grievance regarding the distribution of the relief among the sufferers.
Meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi Shiv Kumar, ACR Tilak Raj Shastri, AD CAPD, SDMs, Teshildars, TSOs and other officers.
