THE NSS UNIT OF G.D.C , REASI organized three days cleanliness drive (2 Oct 2014)
THE NSS UNIT OF GOVT. DEGREE COLLEGE , REASI organized three days cleanliness drive in the College Campus in connection with forthcoming GANDHI JAYANTI celebrations and Honble Prime Minister call for “ SWACHH BHARAT “ as mass movement to fulfil dreams of Gandhi jee to see India CLEAN AND GREEN. During the Camp a plantation drive was also carried out by the NSS Volunteers.
In her inaugural address Principal of the College ( Chief guest )Prof . Kaushal Samotra highlighted the role of Trees for the survival of mankind . She emphasized on the importance of such programme in the College in general and for the society in particular. She impressed upon the students to carry forward this message of “SWACHH BHARAT” to the general masses and act as saviors of plantlife in future.
Dr. Arsh Deep Singh ( IFS (Probation) , ACF ) Forest Deptt. Distt. Reasi who presided over the function guided the students to act as a patrons for the tress and should take proper care of the Trees planted during the drive. He also awared the students about the importance of Green Colour and suggested them to make their Campus “ CLEAN AND GREEN”.
The NSS Volunteers Tarsem , Shiwani , Suridhi who presented their views on Enviornment , Nature , Role of Society and importance of Tress were highly appericiated by the ordiance. During the drive NSS Volunteers sweated to the optimum capacity and dedication for the three days and gave the Campus a new look.
Dr. Rajesh Sharma , NSS Programme Officer gave a detailed note of the activites conducted during the drive and motivated the students by presenting before them challenging ahead for the survival of this Universe. He also awared the students regarding Enviornment related issues like GLOBAL WARMING , and Natural Claymities which includes EARTH QUAKE , CLOUD BRUST , FLOODS etc; . He suggested the NSS Volunteers to work for the poor section of the society and always ready to save the society from these Natural Claymities.
Mr. Rakesh Sharma ( Range Officer , Forest Deptt. Reasi ) and faculty members were also presented during the occasion . Finally, Madam Jasmeet Kour ( Deptt. Of Enviornmental Science ) presented vote of thanks.
