DIC Reasi organizes Debate, Cultural Programme (29 Aug 2014)
In order to educate the student community about the life and contributions of General Zorawar Singh a debate competition was organized by the District Information Center, Reasi at Jawahar Navodhaya Vidhalaya.
Six students participated in the Debate competition and threw light on life history of General Zorawar Singh who helped Maharaja Gulab Singh to establish the State of J&K by conquering Ladakh and Baltistan and taking the boundaries of Jammu Raj up to Afghanistan and Russia. They also spoke about Bhimgarh Fort, a heritage site.
Bharti Kotwal was adjudged as 1st, Sulakshaya Bhagat as 2nd and Sakshi and Arjun Singh adjudged as 3rd respectively.
Speaking on the occassio DIO Parvinder Kour said that students must be well versed about the great legends and country’s history and such debates foster awareness among the students.
Later-on, the cultural assistants of District Information Centre, Reasi presented a colorful Cultural Program me which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Principal of the school highly appreciated the efforts of information department for organizing such programs.
The prizes were distributed among the winners of the debate competition by information department.
