Online Rental Compensation payment service inaugurated by DC Reasi (07, June)
Deputy Commissioner Reasi-Sushma Chauhan today inaugurated “Online Rental Compensation Payment Service” as a part of weeklong Digital India Week (DIW) campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, Chauhan said that the aim of this service is to make rental compensation services more efficient, easily accessible and hassle-free, adding that the service is part of DIW campaign which is being celebrated across the district.
The online payment of Rental compensation is for the owners of the land, whose land was taken over by the Army in the various villages of the District Reasi and in the District 385 owners land has been taken by the Army on rental basis, added Chauhan. She further added that previously, these landlords had to wait for long periods for receiving the rental compensation which were provided by the concerned Tehsildars through the disbursement of the cheques and this process consumed a lot of time and energy of both the owners as well as the officers/officials.
She said that online service would go a long way in minimizing the unavoidable delay caused in the disbursement of the compensation and also helpful in mitigating the hardship which was faced by these owners in repeatedly approaching the concerned offices for enquiring the status of their rental compensation distribution. Besides this, the compensation under NDRF norms for houses which got severely and partially damaged in September 2014 floods, was also disbursed online directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries and so far Rs. 2,40,75,000/- amount of compensation under NDRF norms has been disbursed online directly into the bank account 3181 number of beneficiaries informed Chauhan.
A inter district debate cum interaction program was also organized by NIC Reasi on this occasion. The debate cum interaction was conducted over video conferencing, which evoked overwhelming response from students.
The weeklong celebrations concluded with at Jawahar Navodhya Vidhalaya where a debate competition, workshop in order to educate and create awareness on the initiatives taken by government to make India go truly digital was organized for students. Also a colourful cultural program depicting importance of DIW was presented by cultural assistants of Information Department Reasi, which was highly appreciated by all.
